When Tom and I visited Hawaii several times in the 80s we learned this phrase. Pau (finished, over, done) Hana (work) is Hawiian and translates to mean kickback time at the end of the workday. That is where Tom and I are in life now. Yes there is a little work now and then to keep the money machine going for travel expenses but that adds fun too. Outside Almost Finished - Now for the Inside
The stripes and the gooey glue are off of the outside of the coach and we drop it off with the painter later today.
Now we begin on some projects on the inside. We decided to do a kitchen remodel. Not that big a deal with such a small kitchen. As you can see in the picture we removed the propane stove and the microwave. I have always disliked the propane oven. Couldn't seem to get an even heat it or get the right temperatures. Our last coach had a microwave/convection oven. I really liked cooking with it and wanted another one.
Tom has already installed the new cook top and the microwave/convection oven will go below it. Now I can bake cookies and muffins. My lasagna and pizza will be bubbly, browned and crispy on top instead of just hot and soggy.
We found both the Magic Chef and the Sharp oven from sellers with good reputations on EBay. I think Tom's middle name should be McIver because he seems to be able to figure out how to repair, work on or install just about anything. He is getting it all set up for us.
I got two shallow drawers at Camping World to attach to the underside of the dinette. They will add storage for flatware, cooking tools and knives.
The bedroom had a comforter set that was white with large purple flowers and large dark green leaves. The same fabric was used on the window valances and thick blackout roman shades. Not exactly my style.
I am recovering the valances with a soft, light green/beige upholstery fabric that matches the green in the quilt I am using on the bed. I have put up light colored mini blinds on the windows. It really makes the room seem larger.
Tom picked up a gas scooter with a small motor yesterday for really cheap. The fellow said it had not run in about 18 months to 2 years. After 30 minutes of tinkering Tom got it to running and said that all it needed was a new battery and to have the carburetor cleaned and adjusted. What a guy!
Last year he got a non running electric scooter for me, again cheap, at a garage sale. He then ordered the next size electric motor for it off of EBay and now I have a great electric scooter for running around in the RV parks.

DAILY THOUGHT - Courtesy of LaVon Baker
DAILY THOUGHT - Courtesy of LaVon Baker
Could it be that so many in our modern culture are unhappy because they have mistaken fleeting pleasures for a deep abiding joy, and in so doing, have treasured unworthy ends? C. S. Lewis probed this thought when he said: "Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in the slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased."
Do you have acquaintances, friends, and family members whom you have watched exchange immediate pleasure and instant gratification in the place of true happiness? Have you stumbled into this trap yourself? All of us need a spiritual checkup from time to time to make sure our hearts and our desires are in line with God's will for our lives. Where do you find your pleasure? What do you consider your treasure? Have you given your heart to something of infinite worth?
O God, my pleasure is in you. I give You my heart. I treasure my relationship with You! Amen.
You can’t take it with you, but you can certainly send it on ahead. – Randy Alcorn

Time With Sara
Since Emma starts first grade this year Mom took her to Portland to go school clothes shopping. They got to spend the night with Uncle Devon, Aunt Nikki and the cousins Cole and Tate, so it was a really special treat.
We got to have Sara for the day and overnight! What a bundle of energy this four year old is. As soon as she arrived she was into the toy basket and punching out the Cinderella paper doll and all of her clothes. Then we played mousetrap - not really any rules just building it and catching the mice. After that watching a video she had brought with her. Then off to the park where she climbed the steps and slid down the four slides many many times. She still wanted to run footraces to the fence and back with Papa and Gizzi several times both with her new sport shoes and barefoot. Back home again she watered the patio flowers, washed off the patio table and set it for us, and then helped Papa bbq steak, her favorite. After dinner it was a bath and hair wash, bake chocolate chip cookies and have icecream and cookies with Papa in front of the TV. Off to bed and prayers by 9:30.
Whew, I am tired, but I treasure these times. I am sure she will be up and ready to go at her usual 6:30 AM. What a precious little monkey.
Can a Tiger Change It's Stripes?
Maybe not but we are changing the stripes on our RV. We sold our Rexhall Aerobus.....Well here is what happened. We consigned our Rexhall Aerobus at a local motorhome dealership. One of the salesmen showed a triple slide Monaco and parked it in front of our coach and forgot to set the parking break. Later it rolled back crashing one of the slides into the right front corner of our coach and broke the headlight, window, and caved in the upper fiberglass corner shattering the cabinet above the driver and passenger cockpit. They said they would fix it to our satisfaction or buy it from us for our requested price. Any doubt about what we chose to do? They bought our coach and we went shopping for another one.
The new to us motorhome is a 1999 wide body Bounder. It doesn't have any slides but with the wide body and great floor plan there is plenty of room. My request was that I not have to sit down in the dinette for Tom to get through the kitchen to the rear of the coach and this one works fine.
The stripes on the coach were badly chalked so we are scraping them off and will have a local graphics place put new ones on. It should take the two of us about 9 to 12 hours to get this job done.

Music in the Canyon
On Wednesdays there is always music in one of our parks. This week it was in the canyon and was a new group. The music was advertised as the latest party rock band so I wasn't sure what it would be. It was really good. The music had an island beat and was smooth and mellow but not hard core reggae.
I grabbed a couple of sandwiches at Subway, Tom got the lawn chairs and we met our neighbors, Zac and Randi in the shade of a tree.
Wednesdays are always music in one of the parks. This

New Blog, New Adventures
After a time of recovery from being run over by some horses in late February life has taken a few new turns and I am now ready for new adventures. For those of you who have asked, I am physically recovered and am still working on a few things to get my brain clicking on all cylinders again. Dealing with balance, recall, organization and occasional headaches may take a while but I am really OK.
As those of us who have kept breathing for over 60 years know, life is not always predictable but has interesting twists and turns that can turn into opportunities and adventures if we don't fight against things that can't be changed. That does not mean that I have had an easy time or that I have given up fighting for what I can change. I have grieved over giving up some dreams and goals and putting Billy up for sale. However, it brings me joy to hang on to, savor, and treasure the memories, friends, and opportunities for accomplishments that were given to me in the past three years. Performance horses will always be a part of my heart and I will keep contact with that world and the friends I have in it. Once a Cowgirl always a Cowgirl!
